OCTOBER-2003   3000'+/-  8300'    3hrs+/-      Easy-Solo
This is the easiest scramble on this web site to date.  Good one for the pet, non-climbing
spouse and/or kids.  I took BJ up this day for some exercise.  Park on Hwy 40 at Ripple Rock
Creek (unmarked, between Grizzly Creek and Hood Creek).  Follow the trail along the left
upper side of the creek.  You start gaining elevation right away and move away from the creek.
This trail skirts the lower portion of the cliffs on the south side of Grizzly.  Eventually, there is not
much of a trail to follow anymore, just gain elevation around the southeast side of Grizzly and
gain the upper left portion of the col between Grizzly and Evan Thomas.  Proceed to the very
non-technical summit.

We enjoyed several sheep on the way up as this is a very grassy area.  We also walked right
past one of the neatest A-frame caves I have ever seen, serving as a perfect shelter for sheep.
Once on top, we enjoyed some neat clouds over the Haig Glacier Mountains and close up
shots of Packenham and Evan Thomas mountains.  Return the same way, but use the scree
towards the middle of the col for some easy descent.  Do move back west when spotting
routes versus descending all the way down to the creek.
Crux- Nothing worth mentioning.  This is a shot of
Packenham on the way up.
